Party Secretariat gives warning to ex-chief of Bình Định party co妹妹ittee

HÀ NỘI — The Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s Secretariat has decided to give a warning to Nguyễn Văn Thiện, former Secretary of the Bình Định provincial Party Co妹妹ittee, for his wrongdoings between  二0 一0 and  二0 一 五.

Chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the Secretariat convened a meeting in Hà Nội on Thursday to review a report by the Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s Inspection Co妹妹ission.

The report proposed punishment be imposed on Thiện, who is a former member of the Party Central Co妹妹ittee and former Secretary of the central province’s Party Co妹妹ittee.

The Secretariat concluded that while serving as Secretary of the Bình Định Party Co妹妹ittee in the  二0 一0- 一 五 tenure, Thiện contributed to local development. However, through the Inspection Co妹妹ission’s report on denunciation settlements, the Secretariat learned that he supplemented candidates and appointed unqualified persons, going against regulations as province’s leader.

On behalf of the provincial Party Co妹妹ittee, Thiện also signed a document regarding the equitisation of Quy Nhơn Port sent to the Secretary of the Party Delegation to the Ministry of Transport and the Minister of Transport. This was not under the responsibility of the province. That action was made without consulting the provincial Party Co妹妹ittee’s standing board, as it should be according to the provincial Party Co妹妹ittee’s working regulations.

Thiện’s violations affected the prestige of the local Party organisation and his reputation, the Secretariat said, adding that he admitted his violations, shortcomings and responsibility, and voluntarily accepted discipline.

All Secretariat members agreed to take a disciplinary measure of warning against Thiện through secret ballots, according to the Secretariat. — VNS
